Allerlei gedachten speelden door Lyannes hoofd. Van haar eigen moordlustige gedachten (waar ze nu spijt van had) tot die aan haar vriendje. Ik moet hem vinden... bleef ze in gedachten herhalen. Ze gaf ze er allemaal van langs! En die vrouw had niks met haar en haar vriendje te maken! Dat moest zij toch weten? Ze stond op. Met het pistool in haar hand, geladen. Het was stikdonker, misschien wel middernacht. Voorzichtig liep ze weer richting het bos. Maar toen er niks te zien was zette ze er meer vaart achter. Ze wist niet waar ze heen ging, wat ze wilde. Maar ze wist wel dat ze haast had. Wat gebeurde er in 's hemelsnaam? Ze kreeg zweethanden, en het werd moeilijker om het pistool vast te houden. Ze kon dit niet. "Ik moet!" fluisterde ze tegen zichzelf met schorre stem. Weer een paar stappen. Plotseling hoorde ze wat. Ze dook de bosjes in, en schrok toen ze zag wie het was...
