Chapter 1: Introduction

Harry woke with a start, wondering where he was. What had happened the night before? Why wasn’t he in the tent, with Ron and Hermione? Then, in a flash, it all came back. How Fred died. How Tonks had been so brave, following her husband into the battle, unable to stay watching from the sidelines. And Colin, Who shouldn’t have even been there. Neville, who had been the main reason he had even been able to come to Hogwarts.

He had so much to be grateful of, so many people whom he felt like he owed. First of all: Ginny. He needed her all along, a pity he only realised that now. It was time to talk about it all. Revealing his emotions had never been something Harry liked to do, but he had to try. For her. Then, another question popped up. Where could he go, now that it all was over? To the Weasleys, or Grimmauld Place? Hell, whatever would he do with his life now that he wasn’t fighting for his life anymore?

Harry’s head seemed to overflow with questions, so, deciding that maybe a shower would help, he got up and went to the bathroom. When he was dressed and had made a feeble attempt to make his hair lay down, Harry went down to the Gryffindor common room.
