When a new Evil arrives.
When the King found a New Ring.
October 5th, 3964
Lothlórien, Caras Galadhon
Middle-Earth
"Haldir look at this"
It was an envelope from the King of South-Earth.
"Airadan's writing you?, that's been a while!"
Dear Sidhlairiel,
I'm writing you because I need to tell it someone.
Probably Haldir's reading this too.
I know you two are really close.
But I found another Ring.
I don't know what to do with it and I don't know where it's from.
I found it by a river.
Just wanted to warn you.
Maybe another Evil is rising.
Be careful.
Hope to see you soon.
Kind Regards,
"New Evil come on" Haldir muttered.
"Maybe he's right?"
"Oh come on, which person would be an Evil Lord. I mean the people who've seen Sauron are scared to death for another Evil Lord... so?"
"Maybe of the new generation?"
"Hmm, maybe, but maybe we should visit him!"
"Oh honey that's a perfect idea! We can see Findë and Legolas again"
"Aye, Legolas... Last time a saw him was by... Helms Deep"
"Tomorrow?"
Haldir nodded.
I put the letter back in the envelope.
The day was slowly passing by.
I was longing for South-Earth again.
I think it would be a real surprise for Findëmaxa and Legolas.
I wonder how they are.
Haldir and I were engaged, maybe they're married? Or... maybe not.
I bit my lip. When I was younger, Legolas was my boyfriend, he was really sweet... and he always said he would marry me. But then I... met Haldir.
The whole day he was flirting with me and... after some drinks I kissed him.
I really thought Legolas would never find a new love. His heart was awfully broken. The tears in his eyes were always in my mind. It was really great to see Findë taking care of him. Maybe Legolas' thought's were changed.
"Melamin?"
Haldir stood before me his eyebrow raised, his blue piercing eyes locked in mine.
"I was just thinking of tomorrow, just to excited about it" I smiled.
He sighed.
"Maybe we should travel tonight. Cause it's a real long road to go!"
He wrapped his arms around me and placed a little kiss on my forehead.
"Come on then, get some stuff together"
And finally we could start.
The horses were ready.
"We haven't say goodbye..."
"I left a little note for Galadriel and Celeborn"
"And your brothers then?"
"Oh, well they'll hear it from Galadriel... or Celeborn"
"Alright, well come on let's go"
Breaking dawn.
A little sun was shining but also some little raindrops fell.
"Lovely weather"
We were already far.
"Mordor 's still a awful place"
"It really is, come on the faster we go the faster we leave this all behind"
Haldir chuckled and shook his head.
So we past Mordor and South Gondor.
And so we came in South - Earth.
We travelled a whole night and a half day.
"And Airadan remains were?"
"Gildwel, and Haldir don't try to mutter again! We will rest somewhere"
And so we did.
"Thratos-Lake?"
"It was your idea to visit South Earth right?"
"Your right, your right"
I smiled.
Of course I was.
And so we stopped by Thratos-Lake.
Also this day had ended.
"GET UP PRINCESS"
"Hmph"
"Nah-ah, no muttering, just get up"
"If you would help me"
He grinned "You're just to lazy"
"Why are you so happy today?" I asked while I wiped some sleep out of my eyes.
"Nah 'M not gonna say something"
"You're mean"
We travelled further.
We travelled for hours, without saying a word.
"Melamin? What's wrong? You're leg again?"
I nodded.
Sometimes it felt like it was paralyzed, and when the feeling came back in my leg it was hurting so much.
"Gildwel isn't far anymore"
It wasn't only, the way we had to pass, was horrible.
But we made it.
"I hope Airadan is here, or nearby" I shook my head.
I knew him a bit, sometimes, just on the moment that you needed him the most he wasn't at home. Hunting, or other... business .
"Sidh!" I smiled. It was his voice.
"Airadan"
I jumped of my horse.
A shiver through my whole leg.
"Still...that pain?" Airadan asked.
Haldir opened his mouth to reply.
"Ah I know lad, it's hard isn't it, sometimes she got that pain on a moment which isn't the best, if you know what I mean"
Haldir sighed. "That's why I'm not visiting you that much"
Airadan slapped him on his shoulder and laughed.
"But you're here so quick after I wrote you!"
"Yes, but it was Haldir's idea, you know me, my idea was just writing you a letter back"
Airadan's lips curved.
"You're lucky with a husband like him"
"He isn't my husband yet"
"I see you're only engaged"
"But we're here to see that Ring"
So we followed Airadan.
I really didn't want to know where the Ring came from.
"It took a while before you found it huh Aira"
"You had you're revenge, so we're quit now"
Airadan showed us the Ring.
It smelled like an old River.
"Sorry for the awful smell"
"Looks like, the Ring of Sauron, only another description"
It was really unnecessary to say that.
Everyone could see that.
"Hey Airadan, something else, where's Findë right now?"
"Oh she's near by South Ent Forest"
"Can we visit her? Some day?"
After some days we were travelling to Findë.
"Your curious about Legolas and Findë huh"
"Oh they're not married, yet" Airadan said.
"Not yet?" Haldir asked.
"Not yet, they're also engaged"
I sighed happily.
Glad Legolas found a new love.
It's been a while that I've seen him.
I was a bit nervous when we arrived.
"Findë!, Legolas!, Visitors!" Airadan yelled.
Findë looked through the window of her tree-house and smiled widely when she saw me.
"Sidh!"
She was so excited Legolas had to hold her.
He smiled a bit sad to me.
A huge wave of guilt came over me.
And I remembered why I've felt in love with him.
The first day I've met him, his smile enchanted me.
Thinking of the days Legolas and I were together.
He was so sweet. He really loved me.
Not that I doubt Haldir.
But Legolas would always be there for you.
When you're sad he would comfort you.
Why did I lost my heart to Haldir.
I was drunk when I kissed him.
Do I still love Haldir?
Or do I love Legolas more.
And why... why did I broke his heart.
"Sidh? Sidh?" Haldir looked worried.
I smiled.
No I don't doubt Haldir.
And maybe I shouldn't doubt my feelings.
I love Haldir.
"Sidh what's wrong?, you're changed since the last time a saw you"
Findë raised both her eyebrows, which was lovely.
"There's nothing... Just thinking of something" I tried to sound real. But they all heard I was lying.
"There's something else" It was Haldir who was talking again.
His voice reminded me of the voice of Legolas, when I broke his heart.
Some other memories were coming back. Now so clear.
We stood by the little fire, the tops were dancing in the wind.
Everyone was a spluttering and talking nonsense.
I didn't drunk that much. Haldir neither. I had met him in the morning.
Legolas introduced him to me. From the first moment he was a bit flirting. I liked it. And now we were together. No one could see us. Well they could see us, but they won't remember the things we did. Haldir moved a bit closer.
His eyes sparkling. And then, we were kissing. And when we broke our kiss I heard Legolas voice. Broken, full grief. "Why? I thought you loved me! And then Legolas ran away.
"Tell me what it is, Sidh"
I tried to not cry. I don't know what it is...
I really don't know. And Haldir would hear it... hear it if I lied to him.
"Tomorrow honey, I can't tell it now"
He embraced me.
"You don't look very well, more like a ghost now" also Airadan looked worried.
Findë looked at me, asking the right thing with her eyes.
I softly nodded to her.
"Haldir, Legolas, I think it's time to hunt" Airadan smiled and I gave him a thankful look.
Findë sighed. "Sidh? It's your guilt that you feel when you see Legolas huh?"
"Yes it is, I-i don't know, but sometimes I think I still love Legolas but I won't break Haldir's heart and he's really sweet..."
"Don't forget to breath"
I took a deep breath and started to tell the story further.
"I mean Haldir's really lovely, but he won't show his feelings that much. He's always trying to be a man. Legolas... is different in that point. He always talked about it... not always... but ah you know it. But I don't know it anymore"
"You're choking back you're tears, don't try to do that"
"Because I won't cry because of this stupid feeling. It's really annoying. But I can't help it. It's just me. Just annoying me".
"Sidh, no don't say that again, the last time was really shocking"
And she was right again.
The boys came back of hunting.
Haldir only stared to the ground.
That was something he normally wouldn't do.
"Honey... tell me" he asked again. Well he was more begging me.
"I-i can't... I already told you that. Cause it would hurt you right. I know that".
"But now you started, finish it" and this was more like a command.
"Alright. But sometimes when I hear the name Legolas, I doubt my love" "For you" but my voice was to soft to hear it.
"See you another time, when you don't doubt your love anymore"
I cursed myself. Always these stupid relation problems. And the problems... came because I made them.
Maybe it was better to focus on the Ring now.
"Airadan, can I see that Ring again?"
"Of course" he showed me.
"Wonder where it's from"
I felt Haldir looking at me.
And quickly he stood behind me.
"Maybe you should try harder"
"No, oh you don't understand... that's what I see right now"
He sighed irritated and shook his head.
A tear fell on the Ring.
Inscription was burning red.
Burning in my hand.
I gave it back to Airadan and ran away.
Somewhere nearby a River I stopped.
I fell on my knees. The leaves under my knees were crushing.
I cried.
Now I did. I needed it.
"Maybe you win father, maybe you win. And maybe you will see me soon"
My heart was hurting.
First hurting others and then myself.
And I couldn't mend it.
"The Ring must be here somewhere" Voices were talking.
At the other side of the River some Orcs were trying to find the Ring.
"Hey empty heads, you want the Ring huh? Come one it's somewhere on this side" I said while I stood up.
They crossed the River.
"Now where is it?" The taller one spoke.
"Oh sorry not here"
Quickly as I could a stabbed them with my knives.
Alright<3
